So many Sunni Arabs voted that ballots ran out in some places. The strong participation by Sunnis, the backbone of the insurgency, bolstered U.S. hopes that the election could produce a broad-based government capable of ending the dailysuicide attacks and other violence that have ravaged thecountry since the fall of Saddam Hussein'.
That is HUGE.
Up to 11 million of the nation's 15 million registered voters took part, election officials estimated, which would put overall turnout at more than 70 percent.
Amazing. This is what it's all about exercising your right to vote, seeing all the Iraqi's with the purple fingers and sharing their views knowing that no one can hurt them anymore due to what they say or what they do...it's really something to be proud of and like I've said, NEVER forget our military for they are the one's who made this possible and ofcourse the Iraqi people who risked themselves to go out and vote for a chance at freedom.
