Historic Battle Flags come home...

Yes, pieces of American history back in the US..

found at Worldnetdaily:

col buford's virginia troops flag
Four rare battle flags captured during the American War of Independence by a British officer have been returned after more than two centuries to be auctioned.

The regimental colours seized in 1779 and 1780 by Lt Col Banastre Tarleton, who remains one of the conflict's most controversial figures, have already aroused huge interest among American military historians. They are expected to fetch between £2.3 million and £5.8 million at Sotheby's in New York next year.

Until recently the flags had hung in the Hampshire home of Capt Christopher Tarleton Fagan, the great-great-great-great nephew of the lieutenant colonel.

Capt Tarleton Fagan, a former Grenadier Guards officer, said: "I am very sad to sell them. They are an important part of our family history and we have had them for 225 years. However, there comes a time when their value is such that one can no longer afford to insure them."

Only about 30 American revolutionary battle flags have survived, all of which, apart from the ones to be sold at Sotheby's, are in museums and in most cases only fragments remain. The ones captured by Tarleton are in excellent condition and their history is well documented. One is the flag of the 2nd Regiment of Continental Light Dragoons, raised in Connecticut by Col Elisha Sheldon, who were defeated by Tarleton in Westchester County, New York in July 1779. The other three flags were seized the following year in a still controversial battle in the southern United States.

Tarleton crushed a Virginian regiment under Col Abraham Buford at Waxsaws near the border of North and South Carolina. Accounts of what happened next differ. According to the Americans, Tarleton ordered his men to slaughter more than 100 revolutionary soldiers who had already surrendered. But the British officer maintained that his horse was shot after a truce was declared and pinned him to the ground.

Very interesting. Most Americans still don't even know the history of our fight for Independence and it's's pathetic.

MSLSD Matthews

Yes, we care what this idiot has to say...

from Drudge Report by TorontoSun:

"The period between 9/11 and Iraq was not a good time for America. There wasn't a robust discussion of what we were doing," Matthews said.

robust? wtf... What more freakin information did they need to know about what was going on at the time??? 9/11 was enough to know that we were at war with these crazy fcks and that we had to do something about it unlike some other party.

"If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we've given up. The person on the other side is not evil -- they just have a different perspective."

uhh, there's a big difference between figuring out something and whinning and bitching like an idiot on tv every night because you hate Bush. damn he's dumb.

***edit: Me rushing to post this , I realized he meant the enemy with his "perspective" comment. liberal garbage indeed.

Nice ratings for Matthews by the way.

Do critics hurt Military morale?

Well, Pentagon officials think so...and I do too.

Washington Times:

Commanders are telling Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld that ground troops do not understand the generally negative press that their missions receive, despite what they consider significant achievements in rebuilding Iraq and instilling democracy. The commanders also worry about the public's declining support for the mission and what may be a growing movement inside the Democratic Party to advocate troop withdrawal from Iraq. "They say morale is very high," said a senior Pentagon official of reports filed by commanders with Washington. "But they relate comments from troops asking, 'What the heck is going on back here' and why America isn't seeing the progress they are making or appreciating the mission the way those on the ground there do. My take is that they are wondering if America is still behind them." Mr. Rumsfeld appeared on several Sunday talk shows yesterday to express concern about the effects of the political discussion on U.S. forces. "We also have to understand that our words have effects," he said on "Fox News Sunday." "Put yourself in the shoes of a soldier who thinks that we're going to pull out precipitously or immediately, as some people have proposed. Obviously, they have to wonder whether what they're doing makes sense if that's the idea, if that's the debate." He repeated similar words on other shows, saying on CBS' "Face the Nation" that war critics should "think about the troops that are there and how it sounds to them." He also exhorted the audience on ABC's "This Week" to "put yourself in the shoes of the American soldiers."

EXACTLY. It makes me sick everytime I hear shit from these so called "troop supporters"(Democrats) knowing that our soldiers read and hear this everyday. What's even more pathetic is the fact that when they do say these things, some of it can fuel terrorists (YES IT DOES).. I mean Murthas pathetic outbursts on troop withdrawal was featured on freakin Al-Jazeera for christ sakes. oh, no, but they support the troops right??? ...bullshit.

Al-Zarqawi DEAD??

Fox News:

BAGHDAD, Iraq — U.S. forces sealed off a house in the northern city of Mosul where eight suspected Al Qaeda members died in a gunfight — some by their own hand to avoid capture. A U.S. official said Sunday that efforts were under way to determine if terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was among the dead.

wow, this is HUGE if true...guess we'll have to wait and see for official word. It's funny considering the fact that today was announced that his family has cut ties with him all together.

gotta love our soldiers.

Yes, I had to post about this because it's just another reminder on how dumb the left is. Basically for the past weeks now all we've heard or seen in the media were these crazy Democrats bitching about pulling our troops out of Iraq as in their words "immediately".

Well, they got what they wanted and who decided to do this vote? REPUBLICANS. Yet the funny thing is the Democrats like always BITCHED again and called it an outrage saying that this was just a political stunt by the Republicans wah wah. (lol) ..right.

I love this, though by the AP at Drudge Report:

"A disgrace," declared House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

No, you and your face are a disgrace.

"The rankest of politics and the absence of any sense of shame," added Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the No. 2 House Democrat.

uhh, It's more a shame that it's come down to this at all because of these idiots in the first place.

When time comes to put up, they never do. It's the same crap over and over again and it's tiring.

Global Warming more important?

Stupid Al Gore making a statement about the issue yet again , but this time adding something else to it that shouldn't even be in the same sentence.

Article on Drudge Report:

"What changed in the US with hurricane Katrina was a feeling that we have entered a period of consequences and that bitter cup will be offered to us again and again until we exert our moral authority and respond appropriately," he says. "I don't want to diminish the threat of terrorism at all, it is extremely serious, but on a long-term global basis, global warming is the most serious problem we are facing."

huh?, uh, yea Gore you DO want to diminish terrorism you dumbass that's why you mentioned it.

Terrorism and Global Warming are two totally different issues it's not even close. Sorry, but um, I'm more terrified with a fucking man with bombs strapped to him then freakin Global Warming. wow. It's come to a point now where reading all this bullshit from the left on "Global Warming" is just laughable now. Again, how many times must these people not understand the fact that hurricanes are MEANT to happen it's what the earth does it has it's moments of horrible weather patterns, tonadoes, earthquakes.. right?? This Earth is OLD it's not going to last forever no matter what crap they try to invent to prevent anything from happening on earth.

Planets get born life forms on it or whatever other "things" are on it then it DIES. simple as that. no dome or green house can prevent that. Same as the Sun, it will go out sooner or later but not due to man made things, but cause it'll be it's time to burn out.

It's common freakin' sense.

"Howard The Duck" ?

no, not the movie..haha. that movie was pretty weird, though, but I still some how liked it.

anyway, Mr. dumbass Dean is showing his true colors yet AGAIN. (when hasn't he?) He has reportedly backed out of being on Meet The Press together with The Republican Party Chair Ken Mehlman.

Here's the article from Drudge Report:

Moments before taping was to begin with host Tim Russert, Mehlman asked Dean outside the NBC studio’s green room: “There’s still time for us to go on together Governor.” Dean declined with a shrug of his shoulders and an uncomfortable cackle and then proceeded to walk away into the green room.

lol, yup, that's the Democrat Party Chair for you. Why am I not surprised? He is basically FULL OF SHIT in everything he ever says anyway.. so, him doing this shouldn't surprise anyone. Though it would've been fun to see him look like a fool on TV once again with his dumb evil smirk.

what an idiot.

but i'm not a soldier..

No, not me..all the men and women who are serving overseas in OIF and OEF and ofcourse anywhere in the world or here in the states. Yes, THEY are the SOLDIERS, PATRIOTS, HEROES.

So please give thanks to someone in the armed forces, not just for today but everyday.

Here's a GREAT poem for today:

A Veterans' Day Poem
By Holly Rulli

Veterans' Day will come and go
Quicker than the blink of an eye
But memories of heroes present and past
Will never, ever die.

The youth of today, do you understand?
The price brave men did pay
To preserve the freedom we enjoy
Each and every day.

They were called to duty, and so they went
Not knowing what was to be
Many came home, some never did
They sacrificed so we could be free.

How lonely some must have felt
How scared some had to be
They paid the bill with their own blood
What a great cost to be free.

The heroes of our country
Are the ones who paved the way
For freedom and the many rights
That we enjoy today.

Next time, young folks, you pass someone
Who may be old and gray
Remember — thanks to him or her
You have your freedom today.

They may dress funny, not see as well
Walk a little slow
But they were young when duty called
And off to war did go

Brave men today are still at war
How scared some must be
How lonely some must feel inside
Paying the price to be free

You may dress funny, not hear as well
You drive your cars too fast
But remembers all those great brave men
Of present and of past.

So when you’re called to duty
Not knowing what is to come
Remember all those men before you
Who fought for our freedom.

Support our President, support our troops
Support our country, too
As they go fighting for what is right
For freedom the price is due.

That says it all.

Happy Veterans Day

4 more years!

was there ANY doubt about Bloomberg being re-elected??

Seriously, It wasn't even close between the two as far as Ferrer is concerned. All those rediculous campaign ads and the constant bitching on the Republicans and Bush..wah wah wah. spare me. I don't even live in NY anymore, but I'm glad Bloomberg will still be there for another 4. I mean on a night where Democrats claimed victory (which is laughable) yet at the same time it wasn't great for Republicans either, but i'm not complaining. Although, I am going to bitch about the fact that again the bias media with the headlines of "Bad night for the GOP" or crap about Bush being in trouble and so on... WTF is that?? really, last I checked Bush is still in power and he won't be running again so the so called "victory" that the media/Dems had last night well, I say let them have thier wittle fun.

that small state...

err island.

Regarding this PR WOW article:

The theme of the campaign developed for the United States, 'Puerto Rico: Explore Beyond the Shore', aims to position our island as a dynamic destination rich in natural beauty and activities beyond our beautiful beaches for all visitors to enjoy.

Well, looks like PR is back to promoting the island with it's great TV ads like the one's from the 90's, you know "The Shining Star". The beaches, it's culture even the people of the island who are known for being welcoming to anyone, and ofcourse the food. Except this time, the promoting is more complicated due to the fact that the island is basically in a time where there is just too much corruption and confusion from within it's own government. So, again tell me why people are going to go to PR knowing that there is so much violence there??

Because no matter what, they will always have tourism there for the mere fact that it's a US territory, but an island in the Caribbean which = $$$.

Still, though like I said..there's so much going on. With the pathetic crime rate it's basically worse then in most major cities in the actual states. Can't even go out in the day time without someone killing someone for a petty thing like $5.00.
What's worse is the drug situation I mean you have these drug lords staying in the poor areas so they can hide out and not be caught by the government with the corrupted cops who get paid by these druggies to not rat them out. It's just really sad on what's happening over there..and that's why I'm a bit surprised about the new promotions/ads that they are going to run soon.

Then again, for the sake of that island they need all the promotion(money) they can get.

The other C...

Seriously...I'm sick of Carter and Clinton they just keep talking shit about this administration because you know both of them were such great leaders in their day so they think they know whats best...(ha).

here's what he said from this article:

The Bush Administration's prewar claims that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction were "manipulated, at least" to mislead the American people, former President Jimmy Carter said Wednesday. Carter never thought Saddam had WMD's back in the 90's right? like the rest of these dumb Democrats who are now saying otherwise because of their hatred for Bush. I can't wait for them to all be exposed on past doucments of all of them saying they thought Saddam was capable of aquiring WMD's.

The decision to go to war was the culmination of a long-term plan to attack Iraq that resulted from the first President Bush not taking out Saddam, Carter said on NBC's "Today" show.

Again..I wonder do these crazy people want Saddam back in power?? It's sickening on how they just keep whining like bitches about this I say DEAL WITH IT.

So, Please Carter, do us favor and just STFU.

Can you hear the drums Fernando?

Guess not.

Reading various blogs I came across thepoliticalteen and read a certain post on Fernando Ferrer and his rediculous campaign ad(s). It's just another countless example on how desperate and hateful these Democrats are..I thought the point of these television ads was to get YOUR POINT ACROSS to the people ...correct? Oh no not to them, though it's always "bush lied wah wah wah" or in this case a dumb ad with Bush and Bloomberg.

I'd like to think that most NYers ( and the people actually voting for him) are smart enough to just look at the ad and laugh, but not at the ad itself, but at the stupidity of Ferrer to even let it be displayed. But then again, it's good because it shows the true self of Ferrer.

Maybe Crazy Dean made the ad......
